Mr.
Wake has held a number of management positions
in his career, most recently as National Education
Manager for lighting manufacturer Martin
Professional of
Sunrise, FL, where he was responsible for training
Martin technicians coast to coast on troubleshooting
and repair of Martin, Jem and BigLite products.
"LightParts started as the parts and repair
center for High End Systems legacy products, but
customer demand quickly allowed us to expand into
full line support, and we appreciate that opportunity
to serve the industry" explains Don Pugh,
president of LightParts. "But by customer
request, we also started to service other product
lines - including Martin. While we've adapted pretty
well to Martin products being a shop of 'old High
End guys', it has became apparent that having our
own 'Martin expert' would sure be handy - someone
who knows their broad range of products, dealers,
techs and factory people thoroughly. Simply put,
we could not have found a better person to fill
that role at LightParts. Carl will be heading up
our expansion into Martin service, which includes
new and refurbished parts sales, fixture and circuit
board repairs - basically all the stuff we're currently
doing, but on a Martin scale."
When asked to comment, Mr. Wake said, "While
I've a had a great run with Martin over the last
8 years, I now look forward to putting what I've
learned during that time to practical use in the
service side of our industry. And I'll still be
working closely with my friends at Martin in this
new role. I am very impressed with the value LightParts
brings to the industry in the way of a unique service,
and look forward to expanding on that with my Martin
knowledge base. Also, you don't see very many hurricanes
in Austin, Texas."
